Location: Based at Queen Elizabeth Hospital 

 

Shift patterns

- Day job at ACU

Typical day 9-5

​

-Long days

9-5 normal day job at ACU and then A&E Medical Take and clerking from 5pm to 9pm

​

-Weekend Post Take (Frailty/NonFrail)

8am-8pm Post Take with the Consultant

 

-Ward Cover Weekday

9-5 normal day job at ACU, then Ward Cover until 9pm

​

-Ward Cover Weekend

8am-9pm OR 8pm-9am

​

-Night Take

A&E Medical Take 8pm-9am

​

At ACU - seeing patients, taking history, performing examinations, coming up with a plan with the consultant, clerking Take - seeing, taking history, creating plans and clerking patients referred from A&E to medical team Post-take - after take and admission, seeing patients with the consultant and making further treatment plans, clerking Ward cover - answer bleeps and manage patients on the ward
